About us . . . . We have always wanted to raise a herd of animals . . it just took a while to figure out what they would be. Who could resist the big, innocent eyes of llamas and alpacas??? Not me! Once we got the alpaca bug, we were hooked. Through research on the internet and by visiting farms, we decided to raise alpacas and then added llamas and angora rabbits. As someone who loves to create things, I quickly realized that working with the fiber would be right up my alley. After the initial alpaca investment, we had a llama come to visit and be company for one of our alpacas once we started competing at various shows. That llama, Montgomery, quickly became part of our farm and never returned to the farm who loaned him to us. His picture is the image on our logo, along with our alpaca, Hershey. We began showing the alpacas and llamas in 2001 and found that I love to show. It quickly became apparent that my preference was to show the llamas. Since we only had one llama we purchased more llamas. We now have 7 llamas and 4 alpacas. We have had many animals qualify and show at the ALSA national competition and place well. Montgomery placed fourth in his class in the ALSA national competition in 2001. Our 2003 crias, Annie and Llavendar have both gone to the National Competition and done well. Llavendar placed in the top ten in 2004, as a juvenile. |
